Behold! Your tax dollars at work. The Massachusetts State Police and National Guard recently sent a small army – complete with helicopter, to seize one cannabis plant. That’s correct – one plant.
It’s being reported the offending vegetation was in the garden of Margaret Holcomb. She’s an 81-year-old widow who used the plant to ease her glaucoma and arthritis – oh, the humanity.
Under Massachusetts law, a licensed individual may grow as many plants as necessary to meet their medical needs. Because Holcomb did not have a license she was indeed breaking the law, and apparently subject to a small military invasion. Although she wasn’t arrested, her case is still pending.
